Longrow Red 13 Year Old Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon

Longrow Red is a 13-year-old peated single malt that has spent time aging in Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon casks from Mont Gras’ Intriga Estate in Alto Maipo, at the foot of the Chilean Andes. Aromas of rhubarb and custard sweets, stewed red fruits, blackberries and ginger lie over a layer of barley sugar on the nose. The palate offers notes of summer berries, red apples, smouldering peat embers and black tea, alongside tangy, savoury hints that mingle in the finish with dry driftwood, rosemary and tobacco.

Tasting Note

Nose: Roasted oak and simmered fruit, followed by boozy red wine richness and some festive spice.

Palate: Powerful cherry and blackcurrant, with a touch of jamminess to it. Smoke stands up to the sweetness, giving it a savoury, almost salty edge.

Finish: It goes on and on, with dark chocolate, rootsy herbs and a hint of tobacco.
