The wine is prepared entirely from grapes of Merlot variety coming from the vineyards located in Mehedinti region – Romania, the seventh largest country producer of grapes in the world.
WINE MAKING PROCESS: Manual harvesting in plastic crates, de-stemming and crushing, the must is pumped into temperature controlled stainless steel tanks where it is seeded with yeasts to complete the alcoholic fermentation, followed by the racking of the wine and the completion of the malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, where it is refined by a maturing period of about 6-9 months.
TASTING: Intense ruby red, with purple hues. Aromas like ripe forest fruit, prunes, caramel, hints of fine spices. Dry, full-bodied, strong and balanced, with round tannins and an intense finish. It is recommended to accompany red meats, small or feathered game, traditional Romanian red meat-based dishes, mature cheeses. Best served at 17C.
