Blacksmiths Blend is a full bodied Latakia, Perique, Turkish and Virginia mixture that delivers a harmony of smoky character, sweetness and spice. Carefully crafted for the experienced pipe smoker, the tobacco looks exquisite and smells divinely rich, smoky, with some zing. Dark browns and blacks dominate the vintage bronze gamut, where there are highlights that are undoubtedly quality bright Virginia and Turkish. Loading goes without a hitch as the texture and moisture are conducive to easy pipe packing. It lights exceptionally well too. The flavour is smoky as expected for a Latakia blend but the leaf is by no means playing solo. There’s sweetness to enjoy and some smooth buttery flavours going on. It is reminiscent of an evening campfire, woody, mildly pine hued. The Perique condiment can be detected as gentle spice and pepper. It’s enthralling, as you explore the flavours and puff, time seems less important than the enjoyment of the moment.
