The rise of Italian varieties in Australia should not be a surprise to any of us – many of the early wine pioneers in Australia came from the Mediterranean. Nevertheless, the recent resurgence of these wines has excited many in the wine trade with their new-world take on old classics. Far from its native home in Italy, this Arneis is crisp, dry and full of fruit flavour, but surprisingly light on its feet with good fresh acidity. The best of both worlds and, capturing another rising trend, it is vegan friendly too!
